Editorial policy

CMMCpedia is written and published by one person. This page says who that is, what he gains from it, and how the site keeps government text apart from his own guidance.

Who writes this site

Arnold De La Vega is the Editorial Authority for CMMCpedia. He reviews and edits every page before publication, and every requirement page names him as its author.

He works in this field. He is a practitioner and consultant for CMMC, the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, at Vivid Technical Consulting, which helps defense contractors meet CMMC requirements. Read the site knowing that. His guidance comes from that work, and so does his interest in being found by people who need help with it.

How the site is paid for

CMMCpedia is free to read. It takes no sponsorship, carries no advertising, and sells nothing on the site. No vendor pays for placement, and no page recommends a product because someone asked for it.

The only commercial path is the contact form on the Work with me page. If you send a message there, you are reaching Arnold's consulting practice. Nothing else on the site leads to a sale.

Two kinds of text

Every requirement page holds two kinds of text, and they are always labeled.

Official Source Material is text or facts reproduced from an authoritative government or program source with provenance and version information. It is quoted word for word, cited, and never rewritten.

Practitioner Guidance is the Editorial Authority's own first-hand guidance on meeting a Level 2 Requirement, reviewed and edited before publication and published under his name. It covers what sufficient evidence looks like, what falls short, what over-engineers the requirement, and the edge cases that recur. It is always labeled and kept separate from Official Source Material.

Practitioner Guidance is one practitioner's judgement. It is not the government's interpretation, and following it does not promise a result at assessment.

Corrections

If you find an error, send it through the contact form. Say which page and what is wrong. Arnold checks a reported error in Official Source Material against the cited source and fixes it. He reviews a reported error in Practitioner Guidance and corrects it where he agrees. Corrections are made on the page itself.

Independence

CMMCpedia is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense or with any CMMC program body, and nothing on the site is endorsed by them.
